Pollution is getting worse,  and it is up to us, the public,  to solve the problem. You  can start by taking your  unwanted WASTE to  an RECYCLING CENTRE instead  of just throwing it away.

You also need to properly  DISPOSE of any  rubbish which cannot be  recycled. A good way to INFLUENCE big companies is to  BOYCOTT any products which are harmful to the  environment. This forces the companies to change their  method of production. If you buy an AEROSOL spray, for  example, always make sure it is an OZONE-FRIENDLY one. Also,  if you do drive a car, try and get one which takes UNLEADED  petrol because the EXHAUST fumes given off are less  harmful to the environment. If you are travelling in the city,  don't use the car, but take PUBLIC TRANSPORT instead. It's much  more environmentally friendly, and often faster as well.​
