Some-se foloseşte în propoziţiile afirmative .Se traduce nişte,ceva sau câţiva.

Example:There is some milk in the fridge.

Se mai foloseşte şi la interogativ,dar este defapt o cerere sau o invitaţie

Example:Could I have some berries,please?

Would you like some eggs?

Se mai foloseşte şi la interogativ-când suntem aproape siguri.

ANY-se foloseşte la propoziţii interogative şi negative .

Example:He hasn't brought any food.

I don't have any sisters.

Any- se foloste si la interogativ atunci cand nu stim daca raspunsul va fi negativ sau afirmativ .

Example:Are there any tomatoes in the fridge?

Do you have any sisters?

Any-se poate folosi si el in propozitii afirmative

Example: I can give your brother any of my books if he is keen on reading.

In propozitiile in care verbul este la negativ, componentele lui any vor avea sensurile: nimeni nicaieri/niciunde nimic.

Example: I didn’t see anybody in the park.

There isn’t anything in the fridge.
